Cutting to the chase this product is simply awesome (way..way less than its competitors). The adapter and L bracket are very easy to use and setup. the softbox itself is well built and pops right open. If you’ve never used one it may take a couple of tries to understand how it works. The diffuser panel attaches nicely via velcro.
Ran some test product shots using a sb-600 and they came out very nice. I recommend this product as well as other products sold by Cowboy Studios.

The soft boxes are constructed excellently.
The speed ring adapter however is something else, there needs to be more manufacturers out there for making soft box flash brackets, the current speed rings etc by elinchrome and other reputable companies are way too over priced.
The ball head is very poor, with no amount of tightening will it grip satisfactorily, with the soft box attached the ball head will slip.
the L bracket is useless in the current configuration, I have to modify the L brackets on mine, as I am using Pocket wizard Flexx TT5’s and Canon 580 EX II speedlites, this will involve making a new L bracket with longer Vertical and Horizontal Axis to give me greater adjustment possibilities.
then using Umbrella adapters to give me the tilt axis when attached to the light stand
The cold shoe, these are a joke, I can’t get my TT5’s or my 580EX II hot shoe feet in this piece of crap, so I will end up buying the stroboframe type cold shoes for these, being as I didn’t get much joy talking with a representative for Steve Kaiser, I was told it would be at least a month before they would get any more of these in.
Yet for some reason the strobo frame type cold shoe is supplied as standard on the 16inch soft boxes.
So like the title says, you will be buying these just for the soft box, the brackets will need to be modified for your configuration.

I would recommend the product to any one how is looking for something portable and affordable , it works perfect with my sb-600 , the diffusion is amazing and really soft .
Bottom line great box for you money .

For those of us just getting into the off camera non-strobe craze, this is a great product! Sturdy for its price, easy to set up and great case fits all in one spot. I recommend it to anyone who wants to have more options and try new techniques without breaking the bank.

This thing is well worth the money, It is made with quality. All of it. In my opinion the smaller size 16in in better because this 20in is a little to big for a speedlite. Not enough power to fill this box, unless u use a more powerful Q Flash. I am using a 580EX and i think its not powerful enough to fill the box. But this thing is great. It opens easy and folds away fast and easy, comes with nice little carrying case.
